The game of unrailed has five distinct biomes to play in endless. Each has its own unique attributes that make the gameplay unique. When you buy a new engine for four bolts a new biome will be unlocked.
Each biome contains iron and wood, water works different for the vulcanic and space biome. Trees can vary from biome to biome. Iron can always be found in the form of brown rocks. The dark grey rocks can never be mined or blown up by dynamite.
Distinct biomes
Plains:
The plains biome exists out of green fields of grass with small forests of oak and pine trees scattered around them.
As for animals there are cows that when milked with the milking wagon will give the player triple mining speed. Ducks can be found on the water and don't give any buffs with the milking wagon.
Bandits also roam these lands and will try to steal your rescources and throw them of the edge of the map.
Desert:
The desert biome has sandy lands with palm trees and cacti growing on them.
Camels roam these lands and give the players extra carry capacity when milked. This way you can carry more then three rescources at once. The flamingos don't give any buffs.
Cowboy bandits can be found in this biome and will steal rescources and train tracks and throw them over the edge.
Snow:

Hell:
- Wood from dead trees or pumpkins
-Water from the steam vents
- Must use the iron to build bridges on lava
-There will be times where there are random earthquakes and the screen will shake then tilt or be turned upside down
- Ghosts are present - can seize players, that will reverse movement controls for a while.
- Slimes will attack the engine and will stick to the milking wagon, if milked, can turn the players into a ghost, allowing them to walk through blocks and flips your controls.
Space:
-Now you can fly anywhere but only limited to a certain amount of time outside the air bubble,
-The water bucket is not needed to cool down the engine but will be used as a movable bubble area
-Bridges must be built with iron
- Trees are blue or teal
- Meteors will destroy tracks ahead if not bubbled
- Light grey is iron, dark grey is unbreakable
