The game of unrailed has five distinct biomes to play in endless. Each has its own unique attributes that make the gameplay unique. These attributes come in form of different terrain generation and different creatures. When you buy a new engine for four bolts a new biome will be unlocked.

Each biome contains iron and wood, waterworks are different for the hell and space biome. Trees can vary from biome to biome. Iron can always be found in the form of brown rocks. The dark grey rocks can never be mined or blown up by dynamite.

Distinct biomes

Plains:

The plains biome exists out of green fields of grass with small forests of oak and spruce trees scattered around them.

As for animals, there are cows that when milked with the milking wagon will give the player triple mining speed. Ducks can be found on the water and don't give any buffs with the milking wagon.

Bandits also roam these lands and will try to steal your resources and throw them off the edge of the map.

Desert:

The desert biome has sandy lands with palm trees and cacti growing on them.

Camels roam these lands and give the players extra carry capacity when milked. This way you can carry more than three resources at once. The flamingos don't give any buffs.

Outlaws can be found in this biome and will steal resources and train tracks and throw them over the edge.

Snow:

The snow biome is completely covered in snow which makes it hard to discern the brown rocks and grey rocks and will also slow down the player. The water bucket can be used to remove the snow so the players can walk normally. For trees, you can mine the winter version of the oaks and spruce.

You can find walrusses and penguins in this biome. The walrus also give a triple mining speed to the players.

The Yeti will attack the players causing them to drop their items.

Hell:

The hell biome has lava lakes and dead trees and big pumpkins. From time to time an earthquake might happen and flip the screen (as can be seen in the picture). The water bucket can be filled by steam vents found on the map.

The hell biome has a lot of rescources but often causes difficulty due to the limited build space for the traintracks.

To build bridges over the lava you have to use iron instead of wood.

Magma's will try to attach them self to the engine setting it on fire, however they can be picked up and linked to the milking wagon. The ghosts that room these land will try to posses the player and flip the controls.

Space:

A starting postion of a space biome.

The space biome consists of a collection of islands. The players are able move between these islands with the use of their jetback. Similar to the lava biome, the players must build bridges between islands using iron.

Iron can be found in the white/light grey rocks. and wood can be chopped out of the blue and tail structures that can be found.

The function of the water bucket is also no longer to cool the engine but to create air bubbles for the player to recharge their are supply. When player's airsupply drops to zero they will die and have to wait until they respawn. The water wagon also emits and air bubble for the players to breath in.

Their are no creatures in this biome. But from time to time a meteor will crash into the biome killing the player in near and destroying tracks if they are not within an air bubble.
